Trust is calm, the effect is deep
Trust is calm, the effect is deep
Trust is like a silent investment.
It is invisible, but things work.
It does not sound, but it gives results.
A confidence relationship you have established today can save you from sinking at the time of the crisis tomorrow.
I was at a meeting recently. A participant shared a newly published research with me. According to the research, about 80 %of people in Türkiye do not trust each other. The hall suddenly silent. Everyone was trying to digest this rate.
I said:
"Take a great opportunity for you!"
A surprise spread to the faces in the hall. They couldn't grasp what I mean. They looked at each other.
I continued:
“If we are in an environment where people do not trust each other, you will not be different when you appear as a reliable person, you become attractive like a magnet. Your name turns into a brand. People call you, ask, want to be with you.”
Isn't it really like that?
Because;
One goes to where he trusts.
A customer remains loyal to the brand he trusts.
An employee stands behind the manager he trusts.
A partner wants to walk the road with someone he trusts.
That is why trust in trade is not only a virtue; It is a strategic force.
Some companies spend big money and advertise, seek trust.
Some people give their years, no drops of confidence.
But you can come forward by prioritizing confidence in every word and every action.
The heart of trade is trusting
The place of trust in trade is like a jewelery exhibited in the middle of a showcase. Everyone sees it, but it is a value that not everyone has.
As in all areas of life, the most basic building block in trade is trust . Without trust, there is no reputation; goals lose their meaning. Especially in family companies , that is, in the structures where both emotions and capital are intertwined, the existence or absence of trust determines the fate of a company.
From time to time we encounter the question:
"Institutionalization in a company comes first, trust?"
In fact, the answer is quite simple. Institutionalization nourishes confidence. But if there is no trust, institutionalization can never be permanent. For this reason, the importance of trust in trade is not only about commercial success, but also to the long life of a company.
Trust: A more valuable capital than money
There are things that cannot be taken with money, right?
Respect, loyalty, peace and trust ...
Imagine a company: its customers always prefer itself because it delivers in time, acts as promised and takes responsibility when the problem arises.
So what is the biggest advantage of this company?
Competitive prices?
High technology?
No.
The biggest advantage of this company is that it is reliable . Because if there is confidence, your customer makes your ad, your employees will take you one step ahead. And you grow faster, more solid steps.
The basis of what we call institutionalization; is a culture of trust.
Damage confidence for the sake of short -term gains.
Incorrect product delivery, hidden costs, incomplete information, misleading employees or passing the customer ... These may make you profit at that moment, but in the long run, it gives you much greater losses.
How is trust built?
It takes time to build trust in trade, it takes patience. But the basic principles are:
1. Being consistent:
Do whatever you say. If you promise. Do not exhibit different behavior to the same customer in the same situation. Consistency is the first step of trust.
2. Transparency:
Be open instead of hiding the misconceptions. Accept your mistakes, produce solutions to compensate. People are not error -free; trusts honest people.
3. Empathy:
Try to understand your customer. Listen to the needs of your employee. Put yourself in place of your business partner. Empathy is the sincere basis of trust.
4. Justice:
You should establish a fair structure to ensure that trust in trade is sustainable. If there is no sense of merit, fairness and justice, the seeds of trust cannot be sprouted.
5. Stability:
Continuous changing decisions, weak management, inconsistent managers wear out confidence. Follow your strategic goals steadily. Trust reinforces with stability.
Institutionalization and Trust: A Journey to Hand Hand
Institutionalization; I have not only stated in my previous articles that there is no procedure, document and organization scheme.
Real institutionalization systemizes trust.
For example:
- If the job descriptions are clear, the employee knows the responsibility and the accountability increases.
- If the transfer of authority is healthy, the boss does not need to intervene in every job.
- If there is an internal audit system, everyone works comfortably.
- If there is a family constitution, a bridge of trust is established between generations.
Institutionalization is a tremendous opportunity to restore trust among family members. In this way, a structure based on principles, not emotions, is established. At this point, real institutionalization begins.
Examples of safe growing family businesses
In a family business I consulted, the brothers made unaware decisions, and when the boss quit, everyone was surprised at what to do.
As the first step, we started working together. First we talked about the points where trust was damaged. Then we established an internal communication system with small steps. While the transfer of authority, weekly management meetings, common targets, things slowly sat down on the track.
Two years later, the company grew 3 times. But the real gain was the re -trusting of the brothers and the clamp around the common vision.
Last Word: Trust is calm, the effect is deep
Trust is like a silent investment.
It is invisible, but things work.
It does not sound, but it gives results.
A confidence relationship you have established today can save you from sinking at the time of the crisis tomorrow.
The place of trust in trade is like a jewelery exhibited in the middle of a showcase. Everyone sees it, but it is a value that not everyone has.
If you want to carry your family company to the future, to establish strong ties with your employees, to take a place in your customer's heart:
first build confidence. Then institutionalize. Then grow together.
Remember; If there is confidence, the road is open, the floor is intact, the future is bright.
